The seeker is a magical adventurer, following the path of the rune lantern, psion, or brass heart to augment adventuring parties through the use of their unique magical abilities.
Stat Requirement
- Robustness: 15
- Toughness: 15
- Spirit: 10
Purpose
The primary purpose of the seeker is manifold in their magical abilities. Their most immediate advantage that all seekers share is the ability to disable magical locks and magical traps normally immune to more mundane methods of disablement. Each seeker also comes with some form of beneficial magic to greater support each other or whatever group they are with. This ranges from rune lantern users who usually have supportive buffs, the ability to summon or create minions, or in the case of rosaria acting as seekers active healing. Psions are more direct, usually having offensive spells in the form of elementals and telekinetics that can provide a powerful renewable range offense for any group that is easier to maintain and supply over firearms. Finally you have brass hearts, who are less of a direct spell user and more of an augmented warrior using clockwork technology and internal alchemy to empower themselves.
Regardless of what magic a seeker brings to the table, most can be considered a glass cannon and largely weak on their own. Seekers do not have much in the way of direct protection and as a result will often find themselves tagging along with breakers and agents for dungeon diving. Seekers are largely resource independent, making them highly valuable none the less. Seekers can also get relatively easy access to magical firearms, low power but high capacity and often high rate of fire weapons that further make up for their often poor melee abilities. While no where near skilled as a Ashman or Firebrand most seekers armed with a decent rifle and with access to their spells can provide incredibly support.
Tips
- Know your spells, it can be the difference between being a big help or a huge burden. An elementalist should know which one of his spells fits a situation. An occultist should know which minion he needs most. You should always play to your strength.
- You are by far the weakest of any group, remember that when choosing your approach to any given situation.
Unique Equipment
- Seeker Armor - A lightweight suit of armor with good magical protection and not much else.
- Seeker Pistol - A weak magical pistol that serves as a good back up. Not reliable.
Advanced Tips
- Support seekers who do not have direct combat abilities are just as, if not more, useful than regular combat seekers.
- Rosaria are apart of your faction and are duty bound to help you, if you notice quite a few of them, it is highly suggested asking one or two to accompany any party you are with.
- Likewise, you have access to various medical supplies from the rosaria, failing one coming with you consider bringing supplies yourself.
